At CineAsia 2017 in Hong Kong this week Chinese LASER light source and display expert Appotronic let its Laser-Phosphor projectors and (retrofit) light engine shine at the show. Saying its ALPD (advanced Laser Phosphor Display) Laser projection technology helps cinemas achieve intelligent projection Globally.

However it just joined a joint-venture with Barco and China Film that is to handle global marketing of its LASER solutions to the cinema market. Except for China.

CINEAPPO shines on CineAsia with Laser-Phosphor projectors upto 55K Lumens
As shown above the company has moved to Red and Blue lasers, plus phosphors, from the traditional Blue lasers with phosphors only to generate Red, Green and Blue. Resulting in better red and yellow colours.

Currently, CINEAPPO has realized a projection product portfolio covering brightness of 10,000-55,000 lumens. Much higher brightness than other Laser-phosphor vendors that switch over to RGB laser engines somewhere between 20K and 30K lumens, or simply do not offer projectors over 30K lumens. CINEAPPO says it can provide customized laser upgrade solutions for large, medium and small-sized halls, catering to the needs of different theaters while achieving easy and complete upgrading. Comprehensive customization of laser projection solutions helps theaters upgrade easily, the company added in a statement.

According to Appotronics its CINEAPPO laser projection solutions offers Cinema's more convenience in operation and lower labor costs. When using a traditional light source, most theaters must be equipped with 3-4 technicians, after upgrading to laser projection, one technician is sufficient for the projection of eight theaters, it claims.

CINEAPPO's ALPD laser projection solution incorporates water cooling, and uses a miniaturized power supply, possesses a completely sealed filter-free structure, completely solving dust problems that plague other projectors, without the need for excessive manual maintenance. Resulting in an long service life of 30,000 hours, which avoids the need for lamp replacement for 7-8 years.

To date CINEAPPO has installed 8,800 CINEAPPO ALPD laser projection solutions. Though that must be pre-dominantly in China as its first overseas laser light projection solution only 'landed in the United States' this April.

Appotronics not only addresses the Cinema market with its laser-phosphor projection products, it is also the OEM/ODM of the Hisense Lasercast TV and sells smaller laser projectors under its own name.
