Title: thread broken, need fixing
Post by: MrPixels on Sun December 10, 2017, 03:48:49 PM
This was a very good thread that suffered the white screen of death. A member was posting pictures and the entire thread went blank. Please, can we get this thread restored.

Does anyone read this section and fix anything. I never see any replies and everything reported goes unfixed. Why have this section.

In the previous post there is a link, if that is what you refer to, it does indeed get a white screen when I click it, but only for about 3-4 sec, then it clears and loads the thread properly, the way I see it this thread is not really broken, what I see is that your policy on allowing users to deluge the system with graphics without restrictions is the problem.

YOu can load images on any forum and do not get a white screen. The thread does not load for me at all it stays while as is does for several other people. That was a good thread please fix it. What needs to be done so this does not keep happening. Thank you!

Yea it does go to death screen IF you go to page two, so I will be trying to get to the bottom of this today, but I still say your policy should be revised Alan...

Alan, please meet me at my site and let's talk about your database, there are things in there I have to talk to you about.

Does the forum use a seperate database server? With a front-end requesting entries from the database server? Or is this all in one in this forum software/set-up?

I replied to Wolfang in that thread, and after I clicked post the http://dci-forum.com/hi-end-cinema-home/11/sonys-new-ht-4k-laser-projector-vpl-vw760es/2273/new#new page was to load the thread including the new post.It showed a white page.

No issue with this reply;-).

I have no idea how the software platform works but Bob is going to make some needed changes in the next few days to bring the site into security compliance etc. The look of the forum may change.

I was really trying hard to avoid it, but I had to delete the last 3-4 msg's of the thread before I finally found the one that was causing the white screen, but it was the only way to get at it because there were no errors to guide me...

Please advise if the white screen appears again when someone adds another msg that does the same thing...

test 2 quote inlcuded, but there are no embedded images in this thread anymore,so I can't test if there is a problem in posts with images.
