Even though the answer might be a little late.
Yes, they loose contrast and brightness, not only due to dust collecting, if installed in a dusty environment.
But an experienced technician with proper tools can regain the initial contrast and brightness in qualified periodical maintenance. BTW, this can also be done on the home versions, but AFAIK no one really dares to, as it is more profitable to sell new.

I no longer have my 515 but Id be curious what everyone who has owned the 515 for several years is averaging regarding contrast.

I confirmed those who run theirs on a regular basis do not lose contrast. All in all I loved the unit.
