The new Dolby Integrated Media Server IMS3000 combines the strength of Dolby’s audio processing and imaging server in one unit. And you have flexibility: start with Dolby Audio 5.1 or 7.1 sound now, and unlock the power of Dolby Atmos later. Save money and deliver an experience your guests will love. I was told the hardware for HDMI 2.0 is in place but will require a future software update to activate. Hope this happens soon.

This is a software key upgrade, so Dolby will extract the value, don't worry;-). A well known marketing strategy in small volume high value electronics, where hardware price does not really determine the end-user price.
