EUROPA: ALMOST BECAME the Jodoroswky's Dune equivalent in Home Cinema
« on: Tue October 07, 2014, 07:07:13 PM »
Update:

Despite all the politics this project is ready to start. EDIT Not!

The most amazing movie that was never made. The Players were not only the best technicians they were Spiritual Warriors committed to giving the movie it's all, some even were so committed to the project that they indeed risked it all. The storyboards of this nineteen eighties movie have reproduced itself and appear on all our favorite movies, alien, star wars, Indiana Jones.

In December 2011 CINERAMAX SPECIAL VENUES was awarded 2 deals that would forever change the game in Home Cinema, the quest was to investigate and conceive screening rooms where no leave would be unturned to achieve absolute perfection. Our Russia Campaign thus ensued, Project Albiorix was budgeted at 1.5 million and it would be a test run to see if it would be possible to achieve the masterpiece of all home cinemas on the other side of the world; a project so out of scale with our typical moon of Saturn installations that it would achieve a NEW Rank of over $3.5 Million dollar installations, I give you what was going to be the first moon of Jupiter: EUROPA the greatest home cinema that will never be, but like Jodorowsky's DUNE one whose conceptual DNA will replicate piecemeal through future cinemas of the 21st Century.

The residence was designed and built to be one of the most iconic architectural pieces of the 21st century a $100M home in the exclusive Barvikha Sanatorium grounds, the second most secure neighborhood in Moscow, and the only one where mere humans can enter, the most secure one closer to downtown is Putin's home so you are likely to get machine gunned half way down the drive into it. ;D

To get in to the grounds of the Barvikha sanatorium (this used to be a hospital compound made famous by their treatment of former president's Yeltsin liver problems) the person and  car driving there needs government clearance identification. The air is better here less toxicity than downtown Moscow where factories were integrated into residential sectors, the water too.

The homes there are a surrealism of mostly Kitsch meets truckloads of money, just narrow minded insular Slavic architecture guilded to the hilt, there are however some noteworthy homes, like a replica of Frank Loyd Wrights Falling Water, and the biggest Log Cabin in the world, the crown jewel however, as far as I have seen, and I haven't been down to the other side of the hill where supposedly 35 foot walls surround the president's other compound (I tend to avert machine gun fire personally :) ) the crown jewel is the Masterpiece of Modern architecture Capital Hill by Zaha Hadid.

This thread will not only cover some really extreme cutting edge technology concepts and designs but will give you dear reader an insider look at the super-secluse world of the Russian Oligarchs and life in modern Moscow which appears henceforth to forever have shut itself from the rest of the World.

I will post pictures first then produce copy.

Pay extreme concentration to the piece on the bottom, an accurion active silencer, that technology was going to be applied in a mssive overengineered capacity, every rack, every piece of equipment, projector, laser driver chassis, anything subject to vibration was to be mounted on industrial grade super isolators, that part alone would have been an over $300,000 dollar item on the budget.

Here are the ZHA renderings and our first pass technology overlay, the collisions between the required systems are on first pass, the goal was VIDEO First, Second and Third then Great Atmos, using extensively the Trinnov remapping function.

The canopy skeleton was going to have support for acoustically transparent fabric panels, access to atmos speakers for repair, tricolor led for mood-ligthing, it was to be made of advanced composite material, cost was over $850,000 from German specialist firm. When off the charter was for it to be graphite black.

The investigation of where speakers could fit was done manipilating the 3D BIM Model and finding cavities suitable for custom made speakers.

Speaker hole search....

MSB amplifiers were studied buried in floor with top glass cover a la star trec turbine. ZHA did not like so we went instead with D'agostino momentums, customized black plain rack mount.

Wallpaper arcticle:

The house has many levels from +3 to -2.

For now it will take years to implement the cinema, with the national economy cripled by oil prices and sanctions, that been said the Master Bedroom and some other areas are being prepared to become habituated for occupancy. Level+3 audio video is happening in 2015. The superlative James Loudspeaker whole house line has been tapped. Electronics being considered are several, Datasat among them.
